SUMMARY:Godly Play Storyteller Training (Part 2/3)
DESCRIPTION:Godly Play is a method of faith formation for all ages that makes meaning through story\, wonder\, and play\, nurturing spiritual lives by honoring the centrality\, competency\, and capacity of children. Its special curriculum helps all explore the mystery of God’s presence\, learn the language of\nfaith\, and make authentic and creative responses to God’s call in our lives. Godly Play can be used in Sunday School programs and is also powerful in clinical settings such as hospice\, hospitals\, veterans groups\, addiction recovery settings\, and more! \nThe Children’s Ministry of Central Union Church is partnering with Epiphany Episcopal Church (Kaimuki\, O‘ahu) to host a Godly Play storyteller training in person on three Saturdays from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM. Training will be held on March 29 and May 3 (at Central Union) and May 31 (at Epiphany Episcopal). \nAnyone is eligible for training — no need for previous knowledge\, training\, or experience… an open heart and willingness to learn are the only requirements! To complete the training\, one must attend all three sessions. Godly Play can be used in Sunday School programs and is also powerful in clinical settings such as hospice\, hospitals\, veterans groups\, addiction recovery settings\, and more! \nThe Children’s Ministry of Central Union Church is partnering with Epiphany Episcopal Church (Kaimuki\, O‘ahu) to host a Godly Play storyteller training in person on three Saturdays from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM. Training will be held on March 29 and May 3 (at Central Union) and May 31 (at Epiphany Episcopal). \nAnyone is eligible for training — no need for previous knowledge\, training\, or experience… an open heart and willingness to learn are the only requirements! To complete the training\, one must attend all three sessions. DESCRIPTION:(Previously referred to as “Back-to-School Blast.”) \nThis Sunday\, August 13\, celebrate Keiki Sunday with us!\n\nWe will celebrate our keiki and the start of a new chapter in their lives.\n\nDuring the 9 AM (Sanctuary) & 11 AM (Parish Hall) worship services\, there will be Children’s Church\, a Bible Presentation for certain grades\, and a Backpack Blessing. Students\, bring your school bag to receive a back-to-school blessing! From 10-11 AM\, keiki are invited to cool off with some water play! Prepare to get wet and bring a change of clothes.\n\n\nWe will also have a Pūpū Potluck for ALL from 10-11 AM. Bring something simple and yummy to share! In the spirit of simplicity and being eco-friendly\, we encourage you to also bring your own refillable water bottle\, (reusable) dish and utensils for eating\, and a blanket or lawn chair to hang out and enjoy the day! The church will provide water to drink and have extra paper goods available.\n\n\n\nWe hope to see you there!

DESCRIPTION:Central Union Church’s Children’s Ministry is excited to invite keiki from ages 3 through grade 5 to Compassion Camp\, an exciting opportunity to learn more about compassion and how to share God’s love with others! \nCompassion Camp is a half-day program scheduled for the week of July 24-28 on the church campus. Daily times (likely 9 AM – 12 PM) will be confirmed. Activities include Bible Stories\, crafts\, games\, and a community service project. A suggested donation of $40 per child is appreciated. \nRegistration will close once Compassion Camp has reached capacity or on June 15 (whichever comes first).
