SUMMARY:Community Vigil for Peace
DESCRIPTION:Marking the Deaths of Those Killed in Gaza\nThis interfaith service will center around a speaking of the names of people killed in Gaza\, interspersed with prayers and readings by representatives of various faith traditions. Children make up a large percentage of the death toll in Gaza which surpassed 75\,000 a year ago and is rising still\, even after a ceasefire was declared last October. While focusing on Gaza\, there will also be wider calls for peace and justice in the world. \nWe are called to “Weep with those who weep” (Romans 12:15). \nAll people of conscience are welcome. \nPlease join us in solidarity on Saturday\, May 16\, from 3-6 PM in the Sanctuary or online. Come and leave as you need. \nIf you are coming in person and willing to help speak aloud some of the names (to be read from a provided list)\, there may be an opportunity to participate in this way.
