DESCRIPTION:Heading to the Punahou Carnival this weekend? Come park on our campus and support our youth while you’re at it! The Punahou Carnival will be open this Friday and Saturday (February 6 and 7) from 11 AM – 10 PM on both days.  \n Parking will be available in the neighborhood including at Central Union Church (1660 S. Beretania Street) during the following times: Friday\, Feb. 6 |  6:30 AM – 11 PM Saturday\, Feb. 7 |  9:00 AM – 11 PM The cost is $20 per vehicle entrance (cash only). Vehicles should enter via Punahou Street and may stay parked for the entire day\, with in and out privileges which are dependent on the availability of spaces at the time of reentry. Parking spots will not be saved\, drivers must wait in line for the next available spot\, but will not need to pay to reenter. For parking updates\, check our Instagram or Facebook story.  Vehicles may remain parked shortly after the carnival closes\, but please be aware that there will be no parking attendant or security on campus after 10 PM. All funds raised will go toward Central Union Church youth activities\, and give youth an opportunity to give back to the community through donations.

SUMMARY:Day of Prayer and Public Witness
DESCRIPTION:December 10 (Human Rights Day)\, has been chosen as the Conference-wide Day of Prayer and Public Witness. On this day\, all of our churches and members are encouraged to join with one voice to call for a ceasefire in Gaza where well over 40\,000 people have been killed in the past year. \nThis call is in response to a resolution that Central Union sponsored\, “A Call to Education and Action Regarding the Crisis in Gaza“\, which was affirmed at the annual Hawai‘i Conference United Church of Christ ‘Aha Pae‘āina in June 2024. \nA small team of CUC members – including representatives from Community Ministry\, World Mission Ministry\, and the Young(ish) Adult Ministry – has prayerfully organized two ways that Central Union will participate: \nA sign-waving campaign from 3:45-6:00 PM on the Great Lawn \n\nBring a sign with messages of justice\, peace\, and specific calls for a ceasefire. (“This Church calls for a ceasefire in Gaza\,” “Ceasefire now!”\, “All I want for Christmas is a ceasefire\,” “Honk if you support a ceasefire\,” “Give peace a chance”\, etc.) We will have a few extra signs available!\n\n\nWe will wave our signs along the street\, starting and ending our time with prayer. It’s a straight walk up to the Punahou Carnival entrance. \n$10 to park one time\, all day\nFriday 2/3: 9 AM – 9 PM\nSaturday 2/4: 10 AM – 10 PM\nPlease enter via Punahou Street. \nCheck our Facebook page for updates (i.e. lot open\, lot full) \nPark while supporting the Central Union Church youth!\nMonies raised will benefit our youth program and help to fund a youth retreat and service project in the summer.
