Oratorio Choir Fauré Requiem
I would like to invite you to join with the Central Union Church Oratorio Choir under the direction of Dr. Jace Kaholokula Saplan for a performance of the Fauré Requiem to be held on Sunday, April 5th, at 7:00pm. The Oratorio Choir will include singers from the choral ensembles of CUC, the UH Choirs, as well as from the community.
Dr. Saplan serves as the Director of Choral Activities and Assistant Professor of Music at the University of Hawai‘i at Manoa. Dr. Saplan received his Bachelor of Arts in Music from the University of Hawai‘i at Manoa, his Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Concordia University-Portland, his Master of Music in Choral Conducting from the University of Oregon, and his Doctor of Musical Arts in Choral Conducting with cognates in Music Education and Ethnomusicology from the University of Miami Frost School of Music.
The registration form provided (Faure Requiem Registration) may be returned to the church either by email, mail, or in person. You may register at any time. Feel free to share this information and the registration form with other singers. Registration the evening of the first rehearsal will be from 6:45-7:00pm in the Parish Hall. For rehearsals, please park in the Beretania Street or Punahou Street parking lots; if both lots are full, then please park on the Ewa end of the Great Lawn. Driveway parking is available at the blue curb only for those with the requisite placard.
Donations to help defray the expenses involved in presenting this performance will be gratefully accepted at any time! A freewill offering will also be received at the concert. Donations designated for “Oratorio” may be given in honor of or in memory of someone and will be acknowledged in the printed program. Mahalo nui loa!
