Invitation to Sing in the 75th Annual Presentation of Handel’s Messiah
Aloha mai kākou,
On behalf of Central Union’s ministry of music, it is with great excitement that we invite you to sing in our 75th annual presentation of Handel’s Messiah on Sunday, December 8, at 7:00 p.m., as our community ensemble, The Hawai‘i Nui Chorale, an ensemble dedicated to the performance of extended choral works. It would be our honor to have you celebrate our 75-year legacy with us.
Click to view our 2024 rehearsal schedule. Our first four Thursday rehearsals will be led by Sarah Young, Director of Choirs at Central Union Church. Two Thursdays and our dress rehearsal and performance will be conducted by Dr. Alec Schumacker, Director of Choral Activities at UH Mānoa.
We encourage pre-registration. To register online, click here. Scores will be available to be borrowed, however, if you would like to purchase your own personal copy, we will have it available for $12.
Mahalo nui loa for singing with the Hawai‘i Nui Chorale. We invite you to consider making a tax-deductible donation to help defray the expenses associated with the performance. To give online, click here. Checks can be made payable to Central Union Church; please notate “Messiah” on the memo line. Your gift may be given in honor of or in memory of someone; all names will be acknowledged in the printed program (unless you request otherwise). Donations will be gratefully accepted at any time.
