Senior Activities

If you are over 65, we have activities for you.  Fellowship and interact with other like minded individuals.  We are happy you are here.  For more information on any program, call the church office at 941-0957.

At Central Union Church Adult Day Care & Day Health Center in Honolulu, clients are offered a healthy balance of physical and mental exercises in a setting that encourages socialization. Every day includes delicious meals, socialization and exercise. Plus, clients also benefit from a varied list of fun and stimulating activities that change daily. AEROBICS AND TAI CHI CLASSES AVAILABLE WEEKLY AT CUC:

Through our Senior Services program, CUC offers two classes designed to help our Kupuna address these concerns, which often accompany the process of wellness and aging. Exercise benefits include maintenance of your cardiovascular health, longevity, and preventing bone loss. Low impact/seated or standing aerobic classes are offered every Tuesday and Thursday from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM in the Women’s Building and Tai Chi classes are offered on Tuesdays from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM in the Women’s Building. If you are interested in trying one or both of the classes, please come! All are welcome! Classes are free, however, a suggested donation of $3 is welcomed!

BASIC KNITTING & CROCHETING CRAFTS
Friday – 8:30 to 11:30 AM
Women’s Building
Learn simple knitting and crocheting. Also simple lei making.
Bring your own supplies and lunch. Bring a cup for FREE coffee.
$2 suggested donation.

BOARD GAMES
Tuesday – 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM

Seniors, please join us for games of Scrabble, bridge, mahjongg, chess or any other game that seniors would like to play.

Everyone joins together for a brown bag lunch.

LINE DANCING

Monday and Friday 8:30 AM (beginners) and 9:30 AM (mixed)
Class is located in the Women’s Building at Central Union Church.
This class is open to the public as well as Central Union Members.

TAI CHI FOR ARTHRITIS (TCA) CLASS:

Improve your balance and help prevent falls. The newly added Senior Tai Chi for Arthritis class led by a Board Certified TCA instructor meets in the Women’s Building every Wednesday from 9:00 to 10:00 AM. These free classes are open to all and promote relaxation, flexibility and strength with an emphasis on exercises to help with fall prevention. This class is in addition to the Wednesday Tai Chi class listed below.
