Learning Tree: Wayfinding and Mindfulness
At its core, mindfulness is a practice of non-judgmental awareness of the present moment. It is the simple but not easy practice of being fully present with our senses, our thoughts, and our feelings. Marion Lyman-Mersereau, who taught mindfulness for decades and voyaged with the Polynesian Voyaging Society aboard the Hōkūleʻa, will be sharing how these islands were originally found because of hoʻokele, wayfinders, who were astute observers of their natural environment. We will learn how to be navigators or wayfinders of our inner environment, and also get a brief introduction to a mindful movement practice to incorporate in our lives.
