Maundy Thursday, an alternate name for Holy Thursday, is the first of the three solemn days where we remember the events leading up to Jesus’ crucifixion and resurrection. It is believed to be the day when Jesus celebrated his final Passover with his disciples, washed the feet of his disciples in an extraordinary display of humility, and left his disciples with the command: “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another” (John 13:34).
