Easter is the culmination of our hope. In the face of an empty tomb, we cling to the hope that life overcomes death; that love overwhelms hate. We are a people of resurrection power and this hope has fueled every generation since Jesus’ life.
1 Peter 1:3-4 reminds us of this blessed truth.
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! By his great mercy he has given us a new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading…”

Each Sunday, we gather, yet again, to proclaim the hope of our faith, that God’s love will never fail us for all things; even death itself, has lost its sting in the hope of resurrection! I think that is why Easter is such a big day and we see the masses come to worship. There is a joyous hope unleashed every Easter as we retell the audacious tale of a tomb that is empty and the Christ who is resurrected.

How does the resurrection fill you with hope? This paramount story of our faith shapes us to be aware that an empty tomb is simply the womb for new beginnings! What are the hopes that continue to guide your vision of life, of the future, and that sustains you in the midst of the harrowing news cycles of our day?
