“Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain, where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. When Jesus came to them, and said, ‘All authority in heaven, and on earth has been given to me. Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the father and of the son and of the Holy Spirit and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely, I am with you always, to the very end of the age.'” —The Great Commission, Matthew 28:16-20 The Message Is Clear by K.R. Harding As we welcome our new called Senior Minister, the Rev. Rushan Sinnaduray, to begin his ministry at Central Union Church, we would do well to remember the timeless words of “The Great Commission”, in which our Lord Jesus Christ implores us to spread the Word, in every conceivable way, to “the very edge of the earth”, “to the very end of the age”.
Whether we are Indigenous or not, urban or rural, young or old, rich or poor, we are urged to obey God’s singular command to, “Love one another.”
That is what Faith is all about: acceptance of Others, just as we ourselves are embraced, without exception, by the same cosmic Creator.
The mechanism may not be clear, but the command is: “Live Love.” Our faith may be shrouded in mystery, but the impact is steadfast and pellucid, unlimited and impervious. “Love Never Fails!”
May Creator God shower sweet blessings upon Pastor Rushan, and his wife, and their two children, as they join our ‘Ohana.
