“Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.” –1 Thessalonians 5:11

Starting something new is often overwhelming. A new relationship, a new place, a new job, all new beginnings hold a whole host of questions. Thankfully, we often fill this kind of unknown with excitement and hope. Today a new chapter begins for Rachel.
Rachel Fukumoto will start her position as the Executive Operations Officer (EOO) at Central Union. The lay leadership of the church created the EOO position in order to have operational leadership address the needs of the campuses while the ministerial staff could address the needs of the congregation and the community.
The job description summarizes the EOO position stating, “the EOO is a senior leadership role designed to be a thought partner with the Senior Minister. The EOO will create and oversee opportunities to maintain and operate Church assets in a fashion that improves the ability of the Church to perform its ministry objectives. The primary areas of focus for the EOO shall include implementing and maintaining efficiencies in the Church’s business functions and daily operations.”
This is a large job and Rachel will benefit from a large amount of support and encouragement. So let’s make her first day special. Let’s live into our faith expressed in 1 Thessalonians 5:11 above. I ask you to take a moment to pray for Rachel as she begins this new journey, and then send her an email (rachel-fukumoto@centralunionchurch.org) or give her a call and leave a message wishing her well. Let’s give thanks and praise to God by giving Rachel encouragement and inspiration. We can make today into a great memory for her as she begins her time with Central Union Church.
