Women’s League
OUR MISSION
“To unite the women of Central Union Church in Christian fellowship through worship, service, education and social activities and to strengthen the program of Central Union Church as it serves the cause of Christ in the Church, the community and the world.”
Every woman who is a member of Central Union Church is a member of the Women’s League. We invite you to be part of our life and ministry, and explore the ways you can enliven your membership!
- The CUC Thrift Shop is a major source of our funding. Every Wednesday and Saturday you will find cheerful and helpful volunteers keeping the Thrift Shop running successfully.
- Each second Saturday of the month the Executive Board meets to maintain a high-quality operation.
- We work to host General Membership meetings of inspiration, education, fun, fellowship and business so that our work and support is known to the whole CUC community.
- Through donations to the Thrift Shop we support hundreds of people who find themselves in struggling situations with necessary items for living and loving encouragement.
- We help support the women who organize and carry out the annual CUC Women’s Retreat.
- Join the fun by sharing in the work at the Thrift Shop – there’s a job for all interests.
- Be part of the Scholarship Committee that chooses the 20 recipients each year.
- Join the flower committee and use your artistic talent in creating beautiful flower arrangements.
- Join the Board that makes it all happen.
Through our financial giving many ministries are supported:
- The UCC Wider Church Ministries supporting mission around the world.
- The UCC Local Church Ministries supporting mission around the USA.
- Woman’s Board of Missions for the Pacific Islands – an affiliate of the Hawai‘i Conference UCC supporting compassionate mission both in Hawaii and in the Pacific Rim.
- Local Ministries which we consider as needs arise, but we are especially compassionate toward ministries for women and children, teens and the elderly.
- Each year multiple scholarships are given to selected students eager to further their education beyond high school. (View 2023-2024 scholarship awardees!)
Through our gifts of love we reach out to those of Central Union who are sick, who are lonely, who need a listening ear.

Many people choose to give a gift for scholarship or altar flowers in honor or memory of a loved one.
The Women’s League of Central Union Church offers two scholarship opportunities to assist those attending (or planning to attend) higher education programs. The application period is typically December to February. LEARN MORE
